Cyclist thrown from his bike

A cyclist was struck and thrown from his bike by a passing car yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

It happened on the Kentraugh Back Road, near to the junction with Shore Road in Gansey, at about 3pm.

The cyclist received relatively minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a blue style van, failed to stop and continued driving. It is possible the van’s nearside wing mirror may have been damaged.

Police are seeking witnesses.
