by isleofman.com 20th May 2013

It’s understood the 51 year-old who died in a diving incident was a local man taking part on an organised trip.

Police have launched an investigation after the sudden death just off the south of the Island yesterday (Sunday) morning.

Port Erin RNLI lifeboat ‘Muriel and Leslie’ were called out to an emergency call at 11.47am.

The man was aboard a dive craft off the southern tip of the Calf of Man and transferred to the lifeboat where he was given medical aid throughout the return trip to Port Erin jetty.

The boat was then met by ambulance personnel and coastguards.
