The Director of Ronaldway Airport says the Island is in a better situation than some other regional airports following today's news that Flybe is pulling out of Gatwick.
The airline is selling its arrival and departure slots for ?20 million to Easyjet.
The move won't happen straight away - flights will continue as normal until the end of March next year
The company says it has taken the decision with "real regret and some anger", but claims it was forced into the move by a 102% rise in airport charges and a lack of aviation policy from central government in the UK.
Ann Reynolds says fortunately the Isle of Man has two other airlines serving the London route and she hopes between now and next summer Easyjet may decide to put on more flights to Gatwick
The other six routes flown from the Island by Flybe, including Luton and Southampton will continue as normal.
