by isleofman.com 23rd May 2013

The Select Committee of Tynwald looking into Public Service Broadcasting on the Island will take evidence from two senior members of Manx Radio this afternoon (Thurs)

Chairman of the Board David North and Managing Director Anthony Pugh will give evidence at 2.30pm.

The evidence will be taken in public in the Legislative Council Chamber on Bucks Road in Douglas.

The Committee was set up last December after Tynwald received the Treasury Report on Public Broadcasting Subvention of July 2012 .

Whilst the court reaffirmed its commitment to public service broadcasting in the Isle of Man and recognized Manx Radio as the Isle of Man’s national broadcaster, the committee was set up to examine the matter of the policy, delivery, cost and scope of Public Service Broadcasting and report back to the court with recommendations.

The committee is made up of Zac Hall MHK, Steve Rodan SHK and chairman Richard Ronan MHK

Members of the public are welcome to attend this afternoon's sitting.
