There’s method in the ‘madness’ of Douglas Development Partnership, supporters of a skank dance on Friday May 31st on the North Quay fronted by performances from the cast of the forthcoming production of Our House, the Madness musical at the Gaiety Theatre.
Running from 6 to 7pm the event will centre on the area around the Velvet Lobster and, says town centre manager Michelle O’Malley, ‘promises to bring a touch of Casey Street to North Quay.’
She continued: ‘Since its regeneration the North Quay has become one of the prime leisure and entertainment destinations in Douglas. The area has proved time and time again how well suited it is as a setting for all kinds of community events that bring a sense of theatre and vibrancy to the quayside.
‘Our House is a great showcase for skank dance and will create a fantastic backdrop for what we’re hoping will be a great evening when we’ll be trying to set a new world record for the most number of people skanking at the same time. It’ll be a high-energy evening with live music not to be missed.’
Our House by Mad House Productions (IOM) is on at the Gaiety Theatre from August 28th to 31st.
