Pinkie, a pink snack machine branded with the pink ribbon synonymous with Breakthrough Breast Cancer, was launched in May 2012 by MannVend as a fun initiative to raise money and awareness for this worthwhile charity.
The objective was simply to raise ?2000 by donating all the profits of snacks sold through the machine to Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man. The eye catching pink machine has spent the last 12 months moving around the Isle of Man in various sites, ranging from factories and offices to public sites such as the Sea Terminal and the Airport.
The final amount raised exceeded the original target by 100% and a cheque for ?4000 was handed over to the charity at an official presentation at its current location, the Post Office Head Quarters.
Pinkie was the brainchild of MannVend Managing Director Tracey Leahy and is the only machine of its kind in Great Britain.
“Sadly Breast Cancer touches all of our lives and so we decided to use one of our machine to help raise funds”
Tracey told us: “We have been overwhelmed by the help and support of local businesses who have hosted Pinkie over the last year and extremely grateful to those who have purchased items from it.”
