There will be a reduced bus service around the Island over the next 12 days, even if drivers decide not to strike.
Irrespective of the result of a drivers’ ballot due this afternoon (24 May), bus chiefs have decided they will stick with their plans to run an emergency TT timetable from midnight.
Earlier this week Unite announced it would have to re ballot members over proposals tabled by the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure to end the long-running dispute, when it emerged some drivers had received more than one voting paper.
Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen says whatever the outcome today, Bus Vannin will implement a contingency timetable using stand-in drivers.
