To assist with traffic measures in place during the TT period and to minimise disruption to nearby residents, a temporary drop off and pick up zone for taxi has been created for customer of The Crescent on Queens Promenade.

With the area in front of the premises coned off due to traffic signals at the bottom of Summerhill and the expected increase in taxis due to the venue operating a 3am license at points during the festival, Douglas Borough Council have given permission for the use of the car park between the horse stables and Chillies Restaurant to be used as pick up and drop off zone for patrons during TT.

Commenting on the initiative, George Campbell, Director of The Crescent said “The promenade is a very busy area during the TT Period and with the extra traffic measures in place makes it more dangerous for vehicles pulling up outside the premises. We are extremely grateful to Douglas Borough Council for their support in allowing a temporary drop off zone to be created at their car park site and would hope that all taxis company find this to be of benefit”.
