Reminder to parents of exam students

by isleofman.com 31st May 2013
Parents are reminded to make arrangements to get their children to school for exams during TT week.

Bus Vannin has made valiant efforts to run as near normal a service as possible during the bus strike and only a small number of school services have been disrupted this week. Because it’s half term in the UK, there have been few external exams.

Next week is half term in the Island and the majority of children are on holiday so no school buses are scheduled to run. However, the full timetable of external exams will resume and there is a chance students may be thinking about catching scheduled bus services to their schools to sit these.

The possibility of ongoing disruption to services, together with the added congestion on our roads during TT, means parents are recommended to make other arrangements to get their children to school in good time for exams.

The Department of Education and Children greatly appreciates the efforts made by Bus Vannin, the Steam Railway and the Manx Electric Railway this week to provide transport for students. It is also grateful to school staff who have helped by providing additional supervision at the end of the school day.
