Captain Michael Brew appointed to Northern Lighthouse Board

Government House announced yesterday (Thursday 30 May) that Captain Michael Brew has been appointed as the Isle of Man’s Commissioner on the Northern Lighthouse Board.
 
Captain Brew will serve for a three-year term, from 1 June 2013 to 30 May 2016, following confirmation of his appointment by the UK Under Secretary of State for the Department of Transport.
 
Captain Brew succeeds Robert Quayle who has retired from the post after representing the Isle of Man on the Northern Lighthouse Board for 9 years.
 
The Board is the general lighthouse authority for the Isle of Man and Scotland and is concerned with maintaining the safety of seafarers around the Manx and Scottish coasts.
