Police ask for witnesses after pedestrian nearly hit by planks falling off lorry

Police are investigating an incident that occurred on Wednesday 29th May 2013 on Athol Street, Douglas. At approximately 1pm a flatbed lorry carrying wooden planks, rounded the corner from Prospect Hill onto Athol Street. As it did so a large bundle of wooden planks fell off the back and landed next to the pavement outside Java narrowly missing a pedestrian.
 
Due to it being a busy lunch period and there being a number of people in the area at that time Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Police.
 
Any person who may have any information regarding the incident can make contact with PC 302 Kirsty Bowley or any other officer at Lord Street Police Station.
