by isleofman.com 31st May 2013
The first Irish dancing school with the largest Irish dance organization in the world, An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha, comes to the Isle of Man!

The Bailey Murray Academy of Irish Dancing was founded by International Irish dancing stars and World medal holders, Jennifer Bailey, TCRG and Kevin Murray. Jennifer, who is a certified Irish dancing teacher with An Coimisiun, has been Irish dancing since the age of six and trained in Chicago, USA. She holds Regional and National titles as well as World Medals. Not only was Jennifer successful in her dancing, but academically as well. She graduated in 2008 from DePaul University, Chicago with a double major in Business Administration and Marketing, with a concentration in Sales. After competing and university, Jennifer started touring the world with International shows as lead dancer. Kevin, the unanimous North West Regional Champion, has been Irish dancing for 21 years. Some of his other competitive accomplishments are placing in the top 5 at the Great Britain’s, 2nd at the British Nationals, three times European Champion consecutively, and All Ireland and World Championships medal holder. Kevin then joined international Irish dancing shows at the age of 16 performing in over 25 countries, thousands of venues, and in front of millions of people from troupe to lead dancer and dance captain.

Jennifer and Kevin are very excited to be the first school to represent the Isle of Man in An Coimisiun. They hope to instill the dedication, passion, and love for Irish dancing to each of their students. They want every dancer to be the best they can be.

The Bailey Murray Academy will be having classes in the Isle of Man every month at Gena’s Dance Academy in Peel. They are now taking enrollment. For more information, please email jbaileykmurray@gmail.com.
