Last day of TT bus strike

by isleofman.com 5th June 2013

As a 12 day bus stoppage enters its final day, the Chief Minister insists there’s no possibility of government giving in to drivers' demands.

The strike officially ends at midnight tonight (Wed), marking the end of an industrial action which has caused unrest and led to a major disruption in services during the busiest time of the year.

Striking drivers are unhappy at being asked to work some duties of up to four and a half hours, citing health and safety as the main issue in the dispute.

However, Allan Bell says that is ‘complete nonsense’ and government will stand firm as it bids to make savings.
