Network of Marine Wildlife Information sites is completed

by isleofman.com 5th June 2013

A network of sites around the Island’s coast, providing information about marine wildlife, has now been completed. The ‘Manx Marine Scene’ has been a long running Manx Wildlife Trust project, to provide information panels and binoculars at a series of 5 key spotting sites. These are Marine Drive, Port St Mary, Bradda Glen, Niarbyl and Peel breakwater.

The panels have pictures of species you are likely to see, such as seals, dolphins, basking sharks and birds, as well as information on how to spot them and at what time of year. The binoculars will give better views and spotting opportunities and are free to use. At Bradda Glen, they are specifically designed to be wheelchair friendly, after working with the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to make the whole glen more accessible.

The project has been kindly supported by the Manx Lottery Trust, the Town and Village Centre Regeneration Scheme, Port St Mary Commissioners and Barclays Wealth.
