Last day of bus strike - but no resolution in sight

by isleofman.com 5th June 2013

It's the last day of the TT bus strike - and after 12 days of disruption it seems the two sides in the argument are still at loggerheads.

Striking drivers are unhappy at being asked to work some duties of up to four and a half hours, citing health and safety issues and a lack of decent toilet facilities.

The Chief Minister says that's nonsense and the government will stand firm in its bids to make savings.

But branch secretary Carl Vernon and shop steward Andy Fargher maintain there are health and safety issues which need addressing.
