Nationwide International choose Hospice as their 'Charity of the Year'

by isleofman.com 6th June 2013

STAFF of Nationwide International have selected Isle of Man Hospice as their charity for the coming year. For more than 20 years the company’s staff have selected which charity they wish to support.

“We have supported numerous local and community charities over the years and this year Hospice IOM was selected by our staff,” said Nationwide International senior marketing manager Seamus Byrne. “Hospice is a wonderful cause and provides an invaluable service to the local community, and our staff at Nationwide International are looking forward to a number of fund raising events planned over the coming 12 months.”

Nationwide International stages a number of events each year which benefit the company’s chosen charity, including dress down days, auctions, raffles; bake offs and external social events.

Mary Doyle, Isle of Man Hospice fund raising manager, said the decision by Nationwide’s staff was “warmly welcomed.”

“What’s really nice is that this is a vote by the staff themselves, and it appears that Hospice was a clear winner, which makes this very special.”

Seamus Byrne added, “We won’t know just how much we will raise during the coming year, but it’s always a significant amount and we are really excited about working with Hospice Isle of Man to raise as much as possible.”
