Lower Part of Glen Helen Re-opened

by isleofman.com 11th June 2013

The lower part of Glen Helen is open once again.  This includes the loop to the high bridge, ‘wishing chair’ and playground across the river.

The Forestry Directorate, which manages the 18 Manx National Glens, is pleased to be able to let the public enjoy the lower section of Glen Helen once more.  Work is ongoing to clear the many large branches and trees further into the glen, which were brought down by the unprecedented snow and storms of March this year.  The clear-up operation at Glen Helen still requires a huge amount of work and it is hoped that it will be completed by the autumn.
