Barclays Wealth and Investment Management employees lent their time to support the Leonard Cheshire Disability charity.
Members of the Barclays Relationship Management team volunteered to carry out a much-needed refurbishment of the charity’s Onchan drop-in centre. It re-opened ahead of the TT, which is typically a busy period with additional visitors.
Leonard Cheshire Disability supports more than 21,000 disabled people in the Isle of Man, United Kingdom and in 52 other countries. The charity helps disabled people with physical impairments, learning difficulties and long-term health conditions, also assisting friends, families and carers. An outreach service is available Island-wide offering support to physically disabled adults and helping them lead active lives in their local community.
Barclays Wealth and Investment Management Relationship Manager Jarleth McQuaid said: “We’re thrilled to have helped out with the refurbishment work at the Leonard Cheshire Disability drop-in centre. The work will mean that the Island’s disabled adults will continue to receive much needed support within the local community and provided an excellent resource over the TT fortnight.”
Keith Fitton, Service Manager at Leonard Cheshire Disability, added: “Our services provide a valuable link between disabled adults and the local community. The refurbishment which Barclays Wealth and Investment employees are helping with will enable us to continue to provide our services in a modern and safe environment.”
