A hi-tech bus packed with the latest Nokia gadgets and a world record breaking cycle stunt team will be star attractions at this year’s Royal Manx Agricultural Show with Manx Telecom.
The title sponsors of the show are bringing both attractions to the event held on August 9 and 10 at Knockaloe Farm, Patrick. Nokia’s Lumia Roadshow Bus is effectively a mobile expo where anyone can go on board to try out the company’s full range of handsets and all the apps and accessories. It hit the road for the first time in March this year and is set to travel the length and breadth of Britain over the coming months, but it has never been to the Isle of Man before. The bus comprises a lower demo deck, where users can check out the latest Nokia Lumia smartphones and accessories, while upstairs there is a meeting room as well as a coffee lounge. Travelling with the Lumia Roadshow Bus will be a team of experts to demonstrate how the products work and answer questions.
The UK-based 3Sixty cycle stunt team will also be making a debut appearance in the Isle of Man at the Royal Show. 3Sixty has more than a decade of experience performing BMX and MTB tricks at festivals, on TV shows and featuring in music videos. In that time their world class performers have broken several world records. Last year alone they set five world records including most rear wheel hops on a bike, highest 180 degree spinning bunny hop, and the longest platform to platform bunny hop. In addition to performing stunt displays the team will also pass on some of their skills to children who want to learn cycle tricks. The 3Sixty riders visiting the Island will be Chris Lambton, Alex Wray, and James Hyland – all three are experienced stunt performers who have entertained crowds across the UK and around the world.
This is the second year that Manx Telecom has been the main sponsor of the Royal Manx Agricultural Show which, after the TT, is the Island’s biggest annual visitor attraction. Voirrey Barron, Manx Telecom Marketing Communications Manager, said:
“We’re delighted to be able to bring the Nokia Lumia Roadshow Bus and the 3Sixty team to the show and their performances will add to an already packed line up of entertainment for all the family."
