by isleofman.com 14th June 2013

The newly published Chambers Global 2013 has stated that Cains Advocates “is considered to be a market leader for its commercial litigation practice surrounding trust arrangements and corporate bodies on the Isle of Man”.

Chambers and Partners, which prides itself on the objectivity of its comment and the thoroughness of its market research, acknowledged the ability of Seth Caine, Peter Clucas, Robert Colquitt, Lindsey Bermingham and Gillian Christian who make up  Cains’ commercial litigation department.

With reference to the depth and breadth of Cains’ litigation department’s skills and experience, Chambers interviewees noted the “spread of quality advocates who can represent [them] in a number of legal areas”.

The litigation team, which has more than 100 years’ combined experience, primarily handles complex commercial litigation, including corporate and shareholder claims, trust litigation, fraud recovery, injunctions and regulatory issues. It acts for a broad range of Isle of Man based and foreign clients, ranging from high net worth individuals to multi-national corporations, regulatory bodies and leading international law firms.

Andrew Corlett, managing director of Cains Advocates, said that litigation advocates required a “sophisticated understanding” given the ever increasing complexity of commercial litigation.

“Our litigation team is extremely well placed to offer informed and well thought out tailored solutions. We are delighted that once again the team’s professionalism has been recognised by such a respected publication.”
