An award for the Foundation

The Treasurer of the Manx Stroke Foundation is included in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Terry Chilcott will receive the British Empire Medal for his service to the foundation on the Island.

During his 15 year spell in the role, the MSF has donated more than ?50,000 to Noble's Hospital in equipment and more than ?15,000 to provide services to people suffering from strokes.

The announcement was embargoed until last night and Mr Chilcott says it was hard to keep the news to himself:
