Prepare for Vikings invasion in Peel

Peel’s bracing itself for an influx of Vikings today (Saturday) as a traditional event celebrates its half-century.

The town’s Viking longboat races take place in Peel Bay from 10am this morning, with free entertainment in the town for spectators and participants.

Around 80 teams are set to battle it out behind the oars.

Organiser Jimmy Lee says the teams are from a wide range of organisations, from companies to groups of pals:
