'Constructive' meeting with PM on tax evasion

by isleofman.com 16th June 2013

The Chief Minister says there’s been ‘a very constructive exchange of views’ on the practical steps needed to tackle tax evasion.

Allan Bell yesterday (15 June) joined his counterparts from Guernsey and Jersey at the tax, trade and transparency gathering, hosted by the Prime Minister at Downing Street.

Ahead of the G8 summit next week, David Cameron invited representatives from Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.

Mr Bell joined Deputy Peter Harwood and Senator Ian Gorst.

Many of the Islands and outposts are regarded as tax havens - a claim they deny.
