Rare chance to see Eric Houlgrave paintings

A rare chance to see paintings by the late Eric G. Houlgrave which have never been seen in public before is available to the public at the Peel Centenary Centre with the opening of a new exhibition.

Eric Houlgrave taught at the Art School from 1948-1977 and his students included Norman Sayle, Jean Davie and Michael Sandle. He was highly respected and is widely regarded as having an important influence on the Manx art movement.

The exhibition, which runs until July 9th, also features work by four artists from the north of the Island, including two of Eric's former students - his daughter Deborah and Tony Kennan. The other two artists are Claire Pullinger and Anita Falconar.

The exhibition is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays. and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and during events.
