Crossroads Care is looking for school aged children to grab their paintbrush, crayons and construction paper to help the charity celebrate its 25th anniversary.
‘Cake Boss the Apprentice’ is a cake drawing competition for local school children to design Crossroads Care birthday cake, which will be made and served at the charity’s 25th anniversary Silver Masked Ball at King Williams’ College on 19th October 2013.
The competition opens for entries on 24th June with a closing date of 19th July when all entries will be judged on substance and style to define a winner!
The winner will receive two places at Patchwork Cafe Thursday Night Cinema Supper Club or Afternoon Tea at Vintage Sundays as well as getting the chance to blow the candles out of their cake design at Crossroads Ball!
Richard Ashcroft of Patchwork Cafe who has sponsored the competition and will be one of the judges said: “”.
Alex Wilson, Crossroads Fundraiser, said: “you don’t need to be the next Vincent van Gogh or Mary Berry to enter, just be creative, use whatever you have to hand either at home or in your classroom to create your design and be in with a chance of having your cake baked! The competition is free to enter so you have nothing to lose but a lot of fun to be had!”
Entry forms are now available in Patchwork Cafe, Krafty Kids and Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids as well as at Crossroads Charity shops in Douglas (Prospect Terrace, Windsor Road and Victoria Street) and Crossroads Carers Centres, also in Douglas (Derby Square and Masham Court). Forms are also available to download online at www.crossroadsiom.org.
Closing date for entries is 19th July and the winner will be announced on Crossroads website on 26th July. Entries can be submitted to Crossroads Care, 35/36 Derby Square, Douglas.
