Number of unemployed fell in May

At the end of May total registered unemployment stood at 1072, an unemployment rate of 2.4%.
During the month 220 signed on and 256 signed off, giving a fall of 36 in the total unemployed.
Of the total, 752 are males and 320 are females.

586 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month and at the end of the month 305
positions were still vacant and held on file.
