The Minister for Economic Development says the Island is keeping a very close eye on shale gas exploration in the UK.
John Shimmin says the Island has reserves in its territorial waters but it'll be some time before its extracted.
He spoke in Tywald this morning in response to a question from Michael MHK Alf Cannon about what the department was doing to help tap into the resource.
