Safeguarding children discussed at meeting of Island GPs

by isleofman.com 20th June 2013

Safeguarding children and drug resistance will be under the microscope when Island's GPs gather this afternoon (Thursday).

The meeting of family doctors is the third over the last six months in an initiative aimed at improving patient services and reducing hospital waiting lists.

Dr Alex Allinson, chairman of the GP sub-committee, says the meetings so far have proved invaluable.

Surgeries will remain open this afternoon for simple queries, to book appointments and handle repeat prescriptions.

Cover for urgent appointments and home visits will be provided centrally by locum and retired GPs.
