Police appeal for a Swahili interpreter

by isleofman.com 21st June 2013
Police are asking for the help of the public in trying to find a Swahili interpreter.

Inspector Derek Flint said:

“Some enquiries have come to light that mean we need some help in interpreting both spoken and written Swahili. We live on an incredibly diverse island, and we are hoping that somewhere in our local population there is someone with these skills. This will save us having to go off-Island to find the services.

We have had similar successful appeals in the past with some of the less mainstream languages, and hopefully someone can assist.

If people can call myself in the first instance on 01624 631371 and leave a message if I am not there. I will make sure their details are passed to the correct officer. Alternatively people can contact me on derek.flint@gov.im
