The Head Keeper at The Curraghs Wildlife Park will be roaring off to a MotoGP race after winning a Manx Telecom competition. Johnny Jauncey and his wife Tina won the competition which was run during the TT. Johnny, who says he usually only gets to watch MotoGP on TV, is now looking forward to meeting Isle of Man based Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Cal Crutchlow before watching him race at Brno in the Czech Republic on August 25. The prize includes three nights’ accommodation, grandstand tickets, opening party, paddock access, and ?500 for flights from the Island.
In addition to the MotoGP prize, Manx Telecom customers won 10 Sony Xperia Z phones in competitions held during the TT. Mervyn Harvey, Manx Telecom Mobile Product Manager, presented Johnny with the prize and commented:
“This year’s TT was a great event we were delighted with the response to all of our competitions. We are very pleased that our network regularly managed four times the amount of inbound traffic on our 3G data network compared to last year’s TT. With 100% 3G coverage on the Mountain Course, and with the fastest mobile broadband speeds, thousands of our customers from on and off-Island were far more up to date with what was happening during the races and were also able to share their TT experiences with friends and family around the world through social media.”
Manx Telecom is also a personal sponsor of Milwaukee Yamaha rider Conor Cummins this season, and sponsored the stage at Bushy’s Tent on Douglas Prom during this year’s TT.
