Tribute to a key figure in Manx politics

A figure who made a great contribution to Manx life has passed away at the age of 86.

Dr Edgar Mann was chairman of the Executive Council and Education Minister during a political career which spanned more than 20 years.

Dr Mann, who died peacefully in Noble’s Hospital after a long illness, held a number of government posts and was also acting Speaker of the House of Keys.

Chief Minister Allan Bell says Dr Mann will be remembered as a key player in Manx politics.
