Data protection win bus camera battle

by isleofman.com 25th June 2013

The Island's Transport Department has been forced to cut back, dramatically, the recording distance for their safety cameras placed on the front, rear and side of buses.

An enforcement notice has come after a protracted row between Data Protection and the Department over the extent of the practice.

Buses will also have to carry notices telling passengers, in clear terms, what filming is going on.

Data Protection Supervisor, Iain McDonald.
