Hidden Gardens of Port Erin

by isleofman.com 30th June 2013

There's a last chance to see some of Port Erin's most exquisite private gardens today (Sunday).

The Hidden Gardens event invites the public to follow a trail, to see how village residents have made the most of their outdoor space - be it a back garden, balcony or window box!

Admission is by programme on sale locally and all proceeds will go St John Ambulance in the Isle of Man.

Many of the gardens opening today are small and some were once just a gloomy patch - but all now boast stunning summer displays brimming with colour.

Chairman of Friends of St John Ambulance, Pamela Crowe, says an unusual entry this year is by a so-called guerilla gardener who's growing vegetables on waste land:

The gardens are open between 11am and 5pm, admission is by programme from the railway station in Port Erin and local businesses.
