All set for Royal Manx

by isleofman.com 1st July 2013

Organisers of this year's Royal Manx Agricultural Show say Island farmers are looking to a positive future - despite the terrible losses suffered by some in the severe weather.

There had been fears entries for livestock classes at the Royal would be down, with many farmers still recouping losses from the big snow in March.

But there's been a surge of interest among exhibitors, keen to show-off the best of Manx farming at Knockaloe in Patrick on August 9 & 10.

Additions to this year's entertainment programme include a stunt youth cycling team from the UK and a professional jousting display.

Show secretary Christine Pain says there's still time for farmers and the wider community to get involved:

Mrs Pain can be contacted on 801850.

The show website is: royalmanx.com.
