by isleofman.com 1st July 2013

A team from Manx Telecom won The Children’s Centre’s annual golf day which raised around ?3,500 that will go towards charitable projects helping families and children across the Island. Fourteen businesses took part in the event at Peel Golf Club with the winners taking home The Children’s Centre’s Golf Day Trophy. Susie Cox, Fundraising Co-ordinator at The Children’s Centre, said:

“A great day was had by all and we would like to thank everyone who took part, and Peel Golf Club for helping us to organise a great fundraising event. This was the fifth year we have held our Golf Day and it has become a popular event with many teams taking part year after year. Such loyal support is greatly appreciated and the funds raised are a valuable contribution to charitable projects Mobex, Out2Play, Child Contact Centre, Community Development and Community Farm which help provide children and young people in our local community with positive experiences.”

Teams enjoyed a bacon bap and coffee before heading out onto the course, and there were snacks and refreshments throughout the day followed by a two-course carvery celebration meal.
