Beach Buddies volunteers to tidy up the Southern 100 course before racing

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2013

Volunteers from Beach Buddies will again be tackling a tidy up of the Southern 100 course later this week, prior to the start of the race meeting on Monday.

A team of volunteers will gather at the Southern HQ on Thursday afternoon at 2pm, and then divide into small teams who will each be given a 1-mile section of the course to tackle.

A minimum of ten volunteers are required, in order to efficiently clean the course successfully, and advance notice from those who can assist is required in order to organise the afternoon.

The session will take around one hour maximum. Beach Buddies will provide hi-vis jackets, litterpickers, gloves and bin bags and collect the rubbish afterwards.

Regular southern Beach Buddies' volunteers Ron Ronan and Dave Wilkinson did a marvellous job in May, cleaning the course prior to the Pre-TT race meeting on the Billown circuit, and they will be part of the team again this week.

To register as a volunteer for this event, please send an e-mail to beachbuddies@manx.net or ring 496560.
