Water work shuts road

by isleofman.com 3rd July 2013
A busy route between Douglas and Onchan has closed while the Island’s Water Authority carries out work.

Governor’s Road is shut between Blackberry Lane and Wybourn Drive until Friday.

The Water and Sewerage Authority says it’s installing a connection into a water main as part of a scheme to replace a 12-inch pipeline laid in the 1890s.

Traffic is being diverted along Summerhill Road and Blackberry Lane – but the authority says motorists should avoid the area if possible.
