by isleofman.com 4th July 2013

The Joey Dunlop Foundation in the Isle of Man has received a cheque for ?250 from Standard Bank. The donation was a thank you for the Foundation bringing a Joey Dunlop bike to a client event at this year’s TT Senior Race Day.

Standard Bank ‘s guests were able to have their photograph taken with the legendary world champion motorcyclist’s bike at the Creg Tower area of the course.

The Joey Dunlop Foundation was established in 2001, a year after Joey’s death. It provides specialist accommodation for visitors to the Isle of Man with a disability and allows them to experience the beauty of the island and the excitement of the TT races.

Ian Hamilton, Head of Corporate and Business Banking, Isle of Man, said Standard Bank was proud to be associated with the 26 times winner of the TT: ‘Joey’s spirit and his off-track charity work were a winning combination which continues to thrive through the Foundation’s work. We were delighted to be able to offer our clients the opportunity to get up close to one of Joey’s racing bikes, and to make a donation to the Foundation.’
