Another step forward for Ramsey regeneration

by isleofman.com 6th July 2013
The new heart of Ramsey town centre will be officially unveiled this morning (Sat)
Chief Minister Allan Bell – who is also chairman of the Ramsey Regeneration Committee - will formally open the public space around the Courthouse gardens at 11 o’clock.
The ceremony will mark the latest development in a programme to improve the town’s central retail area and other regeneration projects.
That forms part of a range of events today marking Ramsey National Week.
James Davis has the details:

It’s the penultimate day of Ramsey National Week but the final chance to view two fascinating displays open at Ramsey Town Hall.
The first focuses on the Manx-built vessel Star of India - believed to be the oldest active sailing ship in the world – which was constructed in Ramsey and launched 150 years ago.
The second features photos from the women’s air force from their days based at Jurby Training Camp.
There’ll be entertainment from local groups in the event Carry on at the Courthouse between half past ten and two o’clock.
You can sample the very best music and dance at the Celtic displays in the Mooragh Park from two until four, while St Paul’s Charity Fair takes place in St Paul’s Square between 10 and 4.
And if you want a steadier pace, Ramsey Young People’s Project is holding a coffee morning at The Shed between 10 and midday and there’ll be strawberries and cream and stalls at the Cummal Mooar summer fair at three o’clock.
