Council fun day next Saturday July 20

by isleofman.com 8th July 2013

Noble’s Park is the place to be on Saturday July 20 for the Douglas Borough Council fun day.

Running from 1 to 4pm the event promises a great time for all the family with a whole host of attractions including live music, bouncy castles, trampolines, charity and car boot sales and family races.

And at 2.30 there will be an opportunity for ‘movers and shakers’ of all ages and abilities to put their best foot forward and demonstrate their skills in a street dance competition at the bandstand.

But the fun doesn’t end there. In the evening there will be a youth disco for 12 to 16-year-olds in the community room in Noble’s Park Pavilion from 6 to 8pm. Tickets are free but must be collected in advance from Douglas town hall. (Tickets must be presented at the door to gain entry).

Regeneration and community advisory committee lead member Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘Noble’s Park lends itself magnificently to large-scale community events. A great deal of time and effort by many of our staff, officers and members goes in to ensuring the success of the Council’s fun day, which this year has the two new attractions of the street dance competition and evening youth disco. There will also be another opportunity to hear the talented singer Rebecca Forrest perform, who added to the festive atmosphere at last year’s Christmas lights switch-on ceremony. These are just some of the many reasons to head for Douglas and Noble’s Park on July 20th.’
