Local fund management company, Nedgroup Investments, has provided sponsorship to the Isle of Man Gymnastics Association to go towards meeting the travel costs of sending a squad of top gymnasts to the Island Games in Bermuda.
“We are delighted to be able to support our local gymnasts in their sporting endeavours,” said Andrew Lodge, managing director of Nedgroup Investments. “It’s a unique opportunity for these young people to represent the Isle of Man at the Island Games in Bermuda.
“The costs of sending the Manx squad to Bermuda are significant and, hopefully, our contribution will help the team to perform well and make this a successful and memorable experience for them.”
Janet Donnelly, honorary secretary of the Isle of Man Gymnastics Association, said, “We would like to thank Nedgroup Investments most sincerely for their generous donation as a contribution towards the travel costs for the gymnastics team travelling to Bermuda.
“The team fully appreciates the kind support which really does help to motivate them to do their best and represent the Island well.
“The Isle of Man should be proud to be in a position to put together such a strong gymnastics team, and the squad have been training hard to ensure they are best placed to bring home a number of medals in the different disciplines.”
A women’s team and a men’s team, with six gymnasts in each, along with their coaches and a team manager, will be travelling to Bermuda to represent the Island. There will be regular updates on the team’s progress on the IOMAGA website, www.iomgymnastics.org, and the Bermuda IOM Gymnastics Team Facebook page throughout the Games.
