Department of Health issue statement following Dave Jukes death

by isleofman.com 9th July 2013
It is with the deepest sadness and regret that staff at Noble’s Hospital have today been informed of the tragic and sudden death of Dave Jukes, Charge Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Dave died yesterday evening whilst competing in the Southern 100 Motorcycles Races.  Those who knew Dave know that he was a fanatical biker, who had competed in both the Manx Grand Prix and Southern 100 for a number of years.  Dave’s partner, Cathy, also works in the ICU and the Department’s heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with Cathy and their son, and Dave’s family in the UK, at this time.  Dave was a wonderful and dedicated nurse, a true friend, and a colleague to many staff members – and the Department’s thoughts are also with those who worked with Dave.

The Manx Flag at Noble’s Hospital has been lowered to half mast as a mark of respect to Dave and his family.
