Moore Stephens Isle of Man, leading providers of multi-sector accountancy, consultancy and wealth management services, is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring the Manx Heritage Foundation’s music theatre thriller Illiam Dhone.
The play is based on the life of Illiam Dhone, a famous and controversial 17th century Manx nationalist and politician who was executed by firing squad at Hango Hill near Castletown after leading the Manx Rebellion of 1651. Patriot or traitor, his guilt or innocence is disputed to this day.
“I suspect that many Island residents may be unaware of much of our Island’s rich history,” enthused Jenny Gilmour, manager in Moore Stephens Consulting Limited. “Plays such as this are enjoyable ways to learn about our very special Island and its culture.”
The first outdoor performance of the play on Tuesday 16th July is set in the grounds of Milntown House in Ramsey. A second series of outdoor performances takes place from Wednesday 17th July to Saturday 20th July at Castle Rushen.
Tickets (adults - ?20, children - ?12) are available from Island box offices or online at www.manxheritage.com.
