Peel RNLI Lifeboat called out to assist yacht

by isleofman.com 11th July 2013

Peel RNLI lifeboat "Ruby Clery" and its volunteer crew were called out yesterday afternoon at 3-00pm (Wed 10th July) to assist a local yacht that had engine problems.

The Peel yacht "Sea Seven" had developed engine trouble close to Contrary Head, about two miles South West of Peel.

The yacht on its way back to Peel had engine failure thought to be fuel related and skipper sensibly dropped his anchor and called for assistance. The lifeboat quickly found the yacht put a crew member aboard and returned to Peel by 4-00pm. The coxswain of the "Ruby Clery" John Hunter said "the yacht was very close to the rocks at the time of recovery, but was in no immediate danger."
