LMF LMF & Kreston IOM team up to raise money for B-EAT charity

Love My Figure, Love My Fashion (“LMF LMF”), a new innovative online dress shop where you can find out, and shop by, your body shape, teamed up with Kreston IOM, one of the Isle of Man’s leading independent providers of Trust, Fiduciary and Corporate Services, to raise a massive ?1191.10 for the B-EAT charity.

B-EAT is an eating disorder charity in the United Kingdom and Isle of Man and its representative on the Isle of Man is the Manx Eating Disorder Support Group, which is affiliated with the B-EAT network.  It was founded in November 2011 and is ran by Donna Whalley and Liz Partridge.

Laura Faulds, Managing Director of LMF LMF commented, “We decided to put a team of 7 women together to take part in the Parish Walk 2013 for B-EAT.  Our company ethos is all about feeling happy and confident with your body shape, which is why we use everyday women with different body shapes to model our dresses.  However, the flip side to this is those that really struggle with self-image”.

1.6m people in the UK alone are affected by an eating disorder - these illnesses have the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric condition and up to 20% may die.  Early intervention is crucial in saving lives and B-EAT provides first contact to guide and support people in accessing the treatment they need.

Laura continued, “The charity as a whole is in direct contact with over 100,000 people a year through its helplines, message boards and text services, all which require funding.  Everybody knows someone who is affected by an eating disorder, or suffers themselves.  We need to continue to raise awareness for this devastating illness and most importantly, make provisions to support recovery.

We are delighted with the support we received for the 2013 Parish Walk, and a special thank you goes to Kreston IOM who has been our biggest sponsor”.

Donna from the Manx Eating Disorder Support Group responded, “We are thrilled at the amount of money LMF LMF and Kreston IOM have risen.  It will go a long way to improving the support services we can offer here on the island”.
