Microgaming (www.microgaming.co.uk) would like to wish everyone representing the Isle of Man at the NatWest Island Games Bermuda 2013 the best of luck!

The 2013 Island Games are being held in Bermuda, also known as ‘the Jewel of the Atlantic’. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, beaches and of course great weather, the games present a unique opportunity for athletes from the International Island Games Association to represent their country in their sporting field. The sports involved include athletics, cycling, golf, swimming and tennis. The Isle of Man is proudly sending over 70 athletes to compete at the Games, with an overall field of 2,000 competitors from 24 Islands around the world.

Microgaming’s CEO Roger Raatgever, will be competing in the Island Games in the triathlon event as part of an eight member team, all of which are members of the Microgaming sponsored Manx Tri Club. The triathlon which takes places on Sunday 14th July is being held at Clearwater, St David’s Island in Bermuda, and comprises a 1,500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run.

Microgaming is also proud to have offered long standing and continued support to Isle of Man Cycling and would like to offer the Island Games team the very best of luck, aswell as Microgaming Ambassador Laura Kinley who will compete in a series of swimming events from Monday 15th July. A specialist in backstroke, Laura will compete in the 50m and 100m freestyle event as well as the 50m butterfly, 100m individual medley and female and mixed relay events. At just 17 years old, this is Laura’s second appearance at the Island Games; in 2011 she won two silvers and a bronze medal.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, comments: “To be a part of the NatWest Island Games Bermuda 2013 is a fantastic honour, and I am extremely proud to representing the Isle of Man in the sport that I love. For such a small Island we have an abundance of sporting talent, ranging over many sporting disciplines. I have confidence that the Isle of Man team will thrive in Bermuda and I personally would like to wish every single person the best of luck.”
