Manx residents are being encouraged to get behind the Island’s Commonwealth Games team by purchasing tickets for Glasgow 2014. Tickets for the event go on sale on August 19, with demand for the one million available expected to be huge following the success of last year’s London Olympics. The Isle of Man will be one of 71 nations competing, and will be hoping to replicate the success of the 2010 Delhi Games where shooter Tim Kneale and cyclist Mark Christian both won bronze medals. Manx residents can purchase their tickets and travel packages from Mann Link Travel, the Island’s official Glasgow 2014 ticket and travel provider’. The company – which is owned by the Online Regional Travel Group, the largest online travel group in the British Isles – has been the event’s official Isle of Man travel partner since the 1980s. Brian Kelly, CEO of Mann Link Travel, commented:
