Why you should start dressing for your body shape

by isleofman.com 15th July 2013

Tired of trying on clothes in a changing room, to find that nothing suits you? Feeling frustrated with trawling round shop after shop and coming home empty handed, or worst still, with something that will forever sit in the back of your wardrobe, with the tags still on?

The secret to finding the right fit is by dressing for your body shape.  Every woman has a different figure, so it’s all about knowing what style of clothes suit you.

Clothes can completely change how you look and feel about yourself. Dressing for your body shape will give you the confidence you deserve in your everyday life - from going out with the girls, to that very important interview.

Looking at your body shape, would you say that you are an ‘apple’, ‘rectangle’, ‘hourglass’, ‘pear ’ or ‘inverted triangle’?  Why don’t you find out with Love my figure, Love my fashion and start showing off your shape with the right clothing?!  You can find their body shape calculator on their website homepage! www.lmflmf.co.uk.

Here’s a brief low down:

Apple shape – toned legs, slim hips, along with a big bust.

• Go for V-necks and scoop necks, they are great because they will show off your bust.
• Wrap dresses will hide any lumps and bumps, drawing attention away from the stomach.

Rectangle shape – fairly straight up and down

• Create curves to your shape by wearing dresses that come in at the waist
• Go for V necks to break up the body

Hourglass shape – curvy bust and hips, with a tiny waist – the perfect figure 8!

• Go for 1950s figure hugging looks to show off your curves
• Strapless or off the shoulder necklines will flatter your shape

Pear shape – bigger hips, thighs and bottom compared to your smaller bust

• Go for dresses that go in at the waist and float over your hips
• Emphasize your slim upper half by buying strapless tops and dresses. (Maxi dresses for the summer would be a great buy!)

Inverted Triangle – Big boobs/shoulders that are broader than your hips

• Avoid any detail on the shoulders, it will add bulk where it’s not needed
• Tulip skirts and harem pants would be the perfect style to invest in, as it will help create volume on your lower half of your body.
