Creechurch Sports Academy member, Yasmin Ingham, and her chestnut gelding, Craig Mor Tom, have been selected for Great Britain’s European pony squad.

Yasmin, the current British National Pony Champion, won the last qualifying round at the prestigious Barbury International event with a combined score of 28.6 points. Yasmin and her pony, Tom, have been selected to take part at the European Championships for ponies being held at Arezzo Italy from the 23rd to the 28th July. The team is expected to win the Gold medal and they are confident that Yasmin will bring home the individual gold medal.

The Championships are the pinnacle for under-16s and consist of the FEI European Pony Dressage, Eventing and Jumping Championships.

Stewart Quayle, business development manager at Creechurch Capital said: “It was a delight to watch Yasmin and Craig Mor Tom in action at Barbury. Yasmin is such a hardworking and talented individual and we are extremely proud of her achievements. It is wonderful to see Yasmin flying the flag for the island at such a recognised sporting event.”

Yasmin, who has just finished her GCSE examinations at QEII High school, commented: “I am looking forward to competing at the European Championships with the best pony riders in Europe. I couldn’t do it without the support of my family, friends and the team from Creechurch who came to support me at Barbury. I also have to thank Isle of Man Sports Aid for their support and my amazing pony, Tom, who has been brilliant throughout the whole selection process.”

Yasmin is now training hard ahead of the Championships and is one of the island’s most promising young stars.

John Greenwood, CEO of Creechurch, said: “It was a privilege to watch Yasmin and Tom in action at Barbury and to see first-hand just how much passion Yasmin has for the sport. It’s a fantastic achievement for Yasmin and also for the Isle of Man, which is regularly producing exceptional sporting talent. As a business, we’re committed to nurturing young talent and look forward to supporting Yasmin throughout the rest of her events.”
