What a boost for Island tennis – just heard that the Island Games Mixed doubles Final is an all Manx affair with Billy Harris/Laura Feely playing Marc Chinn/Karen Faragher. Also Billy and Laura have reached the semi-finals of their singles events and Karen and Katie Tinkler are in the semis of the ladies doubles. We already have a bronze in the ladies team event.
The brilliant weather at the weekend enabled the finals of the Junior tournament, sponsored by Equiom (Isle of Man) Ltd to be completed on schedule. In fact the whole week’s programme went through without a hitch which makes a change. Well done to the players and Ian Watson, Sally Walker and helpers for a good tournament.

Entry forms will be available by the weekend for the Annual Chrystals Senior Open tournament which will be held from 3 – 11 August. Events are Men’s/Women’s – singles, also men’s, women’s and mixed doubles The singles events will be run on a ratings format – so you won’t play the club Champion in the first round. This tournament is OPEN to any players on or off Island – there were times when players came specifically to play in this event so if you have a family member or friend visiting during that period perhaps they would like to play in one event.

Events are Minis (Red, Orange & Green ball), singles and doubles -12U,14U ,18U Men’s,Ladies singles/doubles and the Senior singles will be run on the ratings format. Entry on line and there is no entry fee for the club’s closed Championships.
